How Do I Configure the iKit2000 Connection?
After successfully installing a NULL Modem device and
creating an iKit2000 connection via Dial-Up Networking, the connection must
be configured to communicate with the iKit2000 Development Board. To
configure the iKit2000 connection in Windows 95/98 Dial-Up Networking, do the
following:
Double-click
My Computer.

Right-click
the iKit2000 icon, then click Properties.
If
there is no iKit2000 connection, then it must be created.

Click
the General tab. Select Generic NULL Modem. Click Configure.
If
Generic NULL Modem does not appear on the drop down list, then it must
be installed.

Select
Communications Port (COM1) (or the port you are using to connect to the
iKit2000 board) from the Port drop-down list. Select 19200 as
the desired baud rate from the Maximum speed dropdown. Click OK.

Click
the Connection tab. Under Connection preferences, make sure the
connection is configured for
·
8 data bits
·
No parity
·
1 stop bit
Click Advanced.

Click
to check Use flow control and Hardware (RTS/CTS). Make
sure Use error control is not checked. Click OK. Click OK again
to return to the iKit2000 connection properties.

Click
the Server Types tab. Under Type of Dial-Up Server, select PPP:
Internet, Windows NT Server, Windows 95 from the drop-down list. Click to
check TCP/IP. Click TCP/IP Settings.

Click
Specify an IP address. Type 132.147.160.70 in the IP address
field. Verify that Server assigned name server addresses is
selected. No other options should be selected. Click OK.

Click
OK. Your null-modem connection is now properly configured to
communicate with the iKit2000 Development Board.
